Repairs & Restoration

Your clock should be serviced every 5-6 years to ensure that the movement in your clock is clean and lubricated, which in return will give your clock many more years of reliable service so it can be handed down to the next generation.

All clock services involve taking the movement apart including removing the main springs from the barrels, cleaning the parts, repairing or replacing any worn parts, polishing pivots and re-bushing. The movement is then re-assembled, tested and replaced in the case.

Grandfather Clock Repairs

Richard will come to your premises, remove the movement, weights and pendulum

Take it back to the workshops, put it on a special stand, repair and test.

Replace it in it’s case, set up and provide an overview of how to look after it until it’s next service.

Fixing and restoring clocks is intricate and complicated work, so it may take a while for Richard to start working on your clock after you make a booking.

Therefore, it's best to book your clock service in advance and keep your clock safe at home until Richard contacts you to bring it in on a specific date.
